Pausing and Resuming Lessons
Sometimes a student needs a break from lessons — whether for a holiday, illness, or other reasons. Clefora lets you pause a student temporarily, keeping their record intact so you can pick up where you left off.
What happens when you pause
Section titled “What happens when you pause”When you pause a student:
- The student’s status changes to “Paused” and their status badge updates accordingly.
- No invoices are generated for the paused period (for per-lesson billing).
- The student remains in your studio — their profile, progress, and history are all preserved.
Pausing a student
Section titled “Pausing a student”Pausing is done through the StatusBridge — the interactive status badge shown next to the student’s name on their profile.
- Open the Hub and go to the student’s profile.
- Click the status badge next to the student’s name (e.g., “Active” or “Enrolled”). A dropdown of available transitions appears.
- Select Pause.
- In the confirmation dialog, enter a reason for pausing (required) — e.g., “Going on vacation” or “Exam period”.
- Click Pause to confirm.
The student’s status badge changes to “Paused”.
Resuming a student
Section titled “Resuming a student”When the student is ready to return:
- Open the student’s profile on the Hub.
- Click the Paused status badge. A dropdown appears with available transitions.
- Select Resume and confirm. The student’s status returns to “Active”.
Impact on billing
Section titled “Impact on billing”- Termly billing — If you have already invoiced for the term, pausing does not automatically adjust the invoice. You may want to issue a credit or partial refund for missed lessons. See Refunds, credits, and disputes.
- Per-lesson billing — No invoices are generated while lessons are paused, since lessons are not taking place.
