Importing Curriculum Templates

Clefora provides a library of pre-built curriculum templates aligned to popular exam boards and instruments. Importing a template gives you a ready-made framework so you can start tracking student skills immediately, without building everything from scratch.

Templates are organised by exam board and instrument. The following boards are currently supported:

  • ABRSM — Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
  • Trinity — Trinity College London
  • RSL — RSL Awards (Rockschool)
  • RCM — Royal Conservatory of Music
  • LCM — London College of Music
  • MTB — Music Teachers’ Board
  • AMEB — Australian Music Examinations Board

Each template includes the full grade structure for the relevant instrument, with categories such as scales, sight reading, aural tests, and performance pieces pre-configured.

  1. Open the Hub and navigate to Progress > Curricula.
  2. Click Import template.
  3. Browse or search the template library. You can filter by exam board, instrument, or keyword.
  4. Select the template you want to import and review its structure — categories, levels, and skills are shown in a preview panel.
  5. Click Import to add the template to your studio.

The imported framework appears in your curricula list and is ready to be assigned to students.

Imported templates are fully editable once they are in your studio. You can:

  • Add or remove skills to match your specific teaching focus.
  • Rename levels if you prefer different terminology.
  • Add new categories for skills not covered by the exam board (e.g., “Improvisation” or “Ensemble Playing”).

Changes you make to an imported template only affect your copy. The original template in the library remains unchanged.

If you no longer need a framework, you can delete it from the Curricula page. Note that deleting a framework removes all associated skill tracking data for students who were assigned to it.
