Lesson Digests: What Parents See

When you complete a lesson, you can choose to send the connected parent a lesson digest — a summary of what happened in the lesson and what to practise. Digests keep parents in the loop without you needing to send separate messages.

A lesson digest contains:

  • Lesson date and time — When the lesson took place.
  • Attendance — Whether the student was present, late, or absent.
  • Public notes — The lesson summary you wrote when completing the lesson. Private notes are never included.
  • Practice goals — The goals you set for the student after the lesson, with descriptions and goal types.

A digest is sent when you choose to include one while completing a lesson. Digests are not automatic — you write or review the digest content in the lesson completion flow, and it is sent to the parent only if you have entered digest content.

The parent receives the digest as a notification in their Clefora account (and as a push notification if enabled on their device).

You control what goes into the digest through the information you provide when completing a lesson:

  • Write clear public notes — These form the main body of the digest. Focus on what the student worked on and any highlights.
  • Set specific practice goals — Goals appear as a checklist in the digest. Parents can mark them as completed during the week.

Since digests are manually triggered, you can simply leave the digest field empty when completing a lesson. The parent can still view lesson details by opening the lesson on their own Clefora account — they just will not receive a digest notification for that lesson.
