Calendar sync (iCal)
You can sync your child’s lesson schedule with your external calendar app using an iCal feed. This adds lessons to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any app that supports iCal subscriptions.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Access to the Clefora Hub (calendar sync is set up from the web)
- An external calendar app that supports iCal subscriptions
Setting up calendar sync
Section titled “Setting up calendar sync”- Open the Hub and go to Settings → Calendar.
- Click your child’s name.
- Open the Schedule section.
- Click the Sync to Calendar button.
- Copy the iCal feed URL that appears.
Adding the feed to your calendar
Section titled “Adding the feed to your calendar”Google Calendar
Section titled “Google Calendar”- Open Google Calendar in a browser.
- Click the + next to “Other calendars” in the left sidebar.
- Select From URL.
- Paste the iCal feed URL.
- Click Add calendar.
Apple Calendar
Section titled “Apple Calendar”- Open the Calendar app on your Mac or iPhone.
- Go to File > New Calendar Subscription (Mac) or Settings > Calendar > Accounts > Add Account > Other > Add Subscribed Calendar (iPhone).
- Paste the iCal feed URL.
- Click or tap Subscribe.
Outlook
Section titled “Outlook”- Open Outlook Calendar in a browser.
- Click Add calendar in the sidebar.
- Select Subscribe from web.
- Paste the iCal feed URL and give it a name.
- Click Import.
Multiple children
Section titled “Multiple children”Each child has their own iCal feed URL. If you have multiple children, repeat the steps above for each child to add their lessons to your calendar. You can colour-code each feed in your calendar app to tell them apart.
Revoking the feed
Section titled “Revoking the feed”If you want to stop syncing, remove the calendar subscription from your external calendar app. The iCal URL stops working if your teacher removes the parent-student link.
