Understanding billing models

Your child’s teacher chooses how to bill for lessons. Clefora supports two billing models: termly billing and per-lesson billing. Understanding the difference helps you know what to expect when invoices arrive.

With termly billing, the teacher sends one invoice at the start of each term that covers all lessons for that term.

  • When you receive the invoice — At or before the start of the term.
  • What it covers — All scheduled lessons for the entire term.
  • Amount — The lesson rate multiplied by the number of lessons in the term.
  • Payment timing — You pay the full amount upfront before lessons begin.

This model is common among teachers who work on a fixed term schedule with set start and end dates and planned holidays.

With per-lesson billing, the teacher sends an invoice after each lesson (or periodically for a batch of lessons).

  • When you receive the invoice — After the lesson takes place, or at the end of a billing period.
  • What it covers — One lesson or a small batch of recent lessons.
  • Amount — The lesson rate for the lessons included.
  • Payment timing — You pay after the lessons have taken place.

This model suits teachers who offer flexible scheduling or where lesson frequency varies.

Your teacher sets the billing model and you see it reflected in the invoices you receive. You do not need to choose or configure anything. If you are unsure which model your teacher uses, check the line items on your most recent invoice or ask your teacher.

Billing and cancellation policies are set by individual teachers, not by Clefora. If you have questions about cancellations, refunds, or credits, message your teacher directly.
